The voices call
But I don’t answer
In the evening squall
There’s a ghosted dancer


I pretend
That they’re not there
But these illusions
Give me a scare

At being brave
I act a card
In my attempt to save

The demons from taking
My dignity away
Perhaps they’re making
This darkness stay

I envy the crowds
And people who
Can act like nothing
Is starting to brew
