The Angst of Wit
This is my kind of pace! Great track from Focus5 and Mario. Very angular and somewhat disturbing. Some remembrance of Dizzy Gillespie's soundtrack to "The Cool World" in there.

Total class, such a cool jazz track, and outstanding sax playing. Oh, and now I have to listen to that Gillespie Album, I didn't know that one

I know Dizzy Gillespie, I have one of the albums he recorded with Lalo Schiffrin… and I want to get "Free Ride" with Lalo too, such a funky jazz treasure. And now this one is on the list too

YouTube has Complete album. You can also purchase the album on Amazon. James Moody is the sax player. In my humble opinion the jazz sax players in the '50s and '60's are all Masters. I would trade to play like any one of them. Dizzy's group all are "Special" musicians on this album. The pianist Mal Waldron composed all the songs. Dizzy.. Phenomenal!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rua1d2pquk&list=PLTn8sehjDhTBtmEI2FUFgwdp7Q-5hIshQ

Thanks mate!!
I know youtube has almost everything, but I'm an analog enthusiast ☺️
I have the albums now in watchlist on some of my usual music "dealers" online shops (I bought second hand too as is way more expensive) +0

More than my merit, it is the power of the bass that sometimes shows the harmonic path and the groove for others to follow....

You do this more than sometimes for me! My favourite is to play with just one other instrument, especially bass. You're describing what could be a chord and I'm adding just one note on top of this as a "line". A good/creative listener can hear more than just our two notes and imagine a lot that isn't really there. That's where the art is. When nothing is left to the listener's/viewer's imagination it doesn't engage the same way. Like the difference between reading the book and seeing the movie. Reading can engage reader's imagination. The movie is usually "explicit". Movies can entertain, but so often a reader will prefer what they imagined from reading.

Being here is always and exercise (for me) in fitting into so many different styles. Always an education and opportunity to stretch one's imagination. Thanks so much Hartmut for your recognition!
