Very nice my troubadour, the downside of a backing track is that it keeps going and can’t adapt to the subtle changes in tone and timing you want to add, if that is what you meant. +1

shiihs It's not really what I meant, but what you say is very true. It often happens that I hear a track and would have liked the chord progression to move in a different direction than the one recorded. A backing track is a kind of constraint that I as a musician have to "work with" (or in some cases: "work around" :) ) This track was a very
nice starting point for me. What I mean with "kept hitting hard| is that the music impacted me emotionally which made my voice tremble/pitch unstable/etc +1
