I was in the gym, pumping along listening to my "mix of the week" when this song came on. Yeah!!! Bot me head bobbin, did not listen too much to the lyrics but it had a good thumping groove, thick sound, not too complicated, good old southern Rock. Only when I tried to find out who this band is, it turned out it's one of those AI generated bands that keep popping up. Got thousands of followers. I am ashamed that I could not notice it. God knows how good AI will get in a few years...

Rick Beato did a quick piece on something like this, was interesting.

Will these streaming services be pushing these out? Are they behind it? Are we headed towards an AI label at some point? By label, I mean like if an album gets labeled with "explicit lyrics", etc.
I agree TeeGee, it's getting harder to 'hear it'.

Start thinking up ways to "prove" that you`re not AI.
Then again, do Spotify listeners really care?

Don't worry, you'll need a code to receive identification on your cell phone, which will send an e-mail to subscribers who have paid their subscription. Then we'll tune in at 441hz to redefine a new artistic standard, so the AI loses the pedals...Sorry, we live in a crazy world. One thing's for sure, if I sign a song made by Hendrix with AI, you'll all be kicking yourselves.

Having an acoustic on the belly while lying on the sofa and wondering if I even have an opinion on this topic.

In fact, it's easy to imagine. People have been going to concerts for years where a DJ/producer plays music from a flash drive. It's not a big step towards a visual concert where AI plays the music.

If AI can produce mixes using bad splicing, hiss, mud, droning, flat vocals and poor breathing then they may want to steal some of my work :o:D

I actually listened to a little bit of this album from the Beato interview to see what it was about. It got really boring after 3.5 songs or so...all started to sound repetitive and bland...you can tell no real soul to it or imagination. Well I guess because it isn't real people that can be expected...but makes for good elevator music:(

Not sure if this is a pessimistic or realistic take but doesn`t moaning about AI, autotune and the like just make me sound like an old fart who secretly longs back to the days of proper black and white television?
I mean, who`s complaining? I would have expected major music labels to pull their artists from spotify once it became known that spotify was paying AI experts to generate music that spotify would then feature on playlists. Did that happen? No. Ask yourself why.
Why don`t established artists take a position on this? Writing a letter to the UK prime minister pointing out that artists` revenues are threatend by AI is not really that compelling when the main income comes from selling €300 tickets for a gig where a not so small percentage of artists use autotune, click tracks and playback.
The listeners? Why should they care? It used to be that you made a conscious decision to spend your money on a particular album and then sat down and listened to it. Nowadays you spend a fraction of that to be able to listen to anything - entirely detached from the artist. Music has turned into a convenience product, no real substance, lots of artificial flavoring, easily discardable and with no danger that anything sticks in your head for longer than 10 minutes.
That leaves (young) amateur musicians, who used to be the breeding ground for the professionals. But as professional musicians aren`t required anymore, the amateurs are really the only group with an interest in musical ability. In that sense, communities like Wikiloops aren`t riding the wave, they ARE the wave .... in a sea of death.
Thank god AI hasn`t discovered sex yet, oh wait...too late.

First of all, I personally will moan about anything I don't like, and if it is because I am old, so be it. I don't care. The notion that everything that is old is bad and everything that is new is good, don't care about that either. Was everything in the good old days good? No it wasn't. But one thing is never going to stop, and that is me complaining about things I don't like :D
Regarding AI: I don't have a problem with modern technology, I use it every day. However, I started reading serious science fiction books at the age of 14, 15, and haven't stopped. The thing with science fiction is that most authors were very clever people, mostly scientist, mathematicians and it turns out that many of their predictions came true. Not always in the exact manner but close. So the danger emitting from AI to humanity is real. I don't necessarily mean Terminator 2, but the more AI is taking over our life the more problematic it will become.
This will happen: AI programming will get so much better that it will be impossible to know that their music is not human made. They will have "emotion" and "feeling" algorithms perfected, even inaccuracies built in. You will not know the difference. Musicians will not be needed anymore, at least for larger parts. Probably the same for pictures and art. Sticking a Banana to a wall, AI can do that better. 3D printing with paint, they will Van Gogh the shizzle out of canvas painting. Videos? Movies? I've seen some AI generated movie clips, amazing. The next Tarantino will be a machine :O
(And I am not talking about any AI getting consciousness one day, that will be "interesting" )
I always thought in the past that robots were going to be made so humans can have more free time, and enjoy this leisure to make arts and music. It turns out it is going the other way, we are asked to work more and for longer, and AI does the music. People are getting so dependent on it, god help us all if the power grid breaks down. Cool stuff, eh?

It reminds me of a sentence I saw on the internet 'I don’t want the AI to make music and paint while I do the dishes and the cleaning, I want the AI to make the dishes and the cleaning while I make music and paint!' :@
