Ive been meaning to share this with you and dont know if you ever experimented with it.. First, All three musicians are pro LA studio session musicians just having a sunday jam. The drummer has a wonderful channel "Jackreedmusic" on youtube and his thing is very dry drum mixes "no reverb , no room sound ambiance..." etc...https://youtu.be/V25eDSeeyU0?si=ae63A8T9dHJn1D7-
This was also very loosely the inspiration for this track.

Ive been experimenting lately with dry drums and trying some of his recording tips.Theres an amazing jam at the end to show how dry drums sit in the mix
