The monster living in my house

There\'s a thing in my attic every morning, noon and night / makes my heart jump right out of my skin.\r\nCan it gnaw through the ceiling, will it sting will it bite / can it get out the way it got in.\r\nIt scratches and scuttles, it claws at the wood / it moves very fast, like a mouse.\r\nBut it sounds much bigger, so I say, go figure - a monster is living in my house.\r\n\r\nThe thing in my house is disturbing my peace / it comes when I least expect it.\r\nI think it\'s after me because as far as I can see, no-one else can hear it or detect it.\r\nI\'m normally chill, don\'t want to harm or kill / but the thing just won\'t leave me alone.\r\nI wouldn\'t hurt a flea, a spider or a bee... but this monster is residing in my home.\r\n\r\nI ventured up once with a torch and a trap / it was scary but had to be done.\r\nThen I heard the trap spring, had it captured the thing / it was quiet at last, had I won?\r\nBut the very next day, on my keyboard, at play / I heard a familiar sound.\r\nWas it another, a sister or brother.... or was my monster nemesis still hanging around?
