If the music does not go to your heart, just leave it behind. :) Although a pure bassline often is hard to listen to, because of its nature it can be very incomplete, and mostly is it.

Precisely! I love playing with just bass and having those two single voices with a big void between them. The listener then can imagine they hear much more than what's actually there. The art is in the unseen/unheard.
