Yes, I was shocked to learn recently that my wife can hear higher notes than I can which she says are too loud in some of my songs (that I can't hear at all @ 77).

I tend to not go to the low notes much on flute because unless blowing a transverse flute (or EWI), they are very hard to blow well --especially "B"--after paying extra for the foot.
