For me it's usually when I'm sleeping and hear something that's interesting...of course gone by morning. I'd love to be a multi instrumentalist like you. Alas, I'm stuck with one note at a time.

Thanks! Yamaha E kit with Toontrack EZ Drummer "Big Rock Drums" patch for the kit sound."Sugar Reverb" on just snare and "Tube Compressor" on just kick.
The cool thing with this patch is if you cut off the low end bass, you get a Steely Dan drum sound.
