In the Bebop era, Bop musicians created contrafacts which is a music piece consisting of a new melody over a preexisting harmonic structure (or chord progression). While you can copyright a melody, you cannot copyright a harmonic structure. But Bop musicians played cool free floating and exciting rhythms just like Claus and Jorg play here. This free style but always in tempo excited me to try and play Jazz. I added 0:05-1:12 and 2:42-3:27. 1:12-2:42 is open for a solo.
