Wade Freedom is always there in improvisation, but jazz can be very restrictive and prescriptive about rhythmic accents and using "theory" instead of melodic playing. You play well following your own vision, and that's what makes for good and great players. Jazz for most today is about copying the sound of players from the middle of the last century. You don't need to do that. Play the feel (as you do) but don't fall into a trap that limits you. +1
