Yourself always hear best. I think it has to do with the position you take wile playing the indtument. A listener hears an other sound. but you have to be confertable with your instrument. You do the repairs yourself?

no i have a luthier that is my friend, but my cello have a limit, i did the maximum, change all "removeble" parts, and put good strings Pirastro oliv. i know that sound isnt good enough because i had other cello after this one

Aha, i know that problem. I played several much better basses. After i did that mine sound like a carton cigar box. I sometime is hard to be satisfied:)
