I was a listener before I was a player! Plus I had an older brother who was one as well! Houston in the late 60s and 70s had the Best VARIED radio staion....they played all kinds of great stuff ---that would these days of radio wouldn't even see the light of day.

Me too but I tried to play drums (shoes boxes)when i had 6 yo :D I think you grew up at the right time to feed yourself with tons of good music and different streams, which is really good for a great musical taste
