I was just listening to some songs on the Pet Sounds album like "I just wasn't meant for these times" and Caroline No" and it's a long time since I found a songwriter that creative. I'm not complaining because I do like all types of music, with or without melodies - just curious if there was a wikiloops writer/producer who still had the gift ... names please :)

Haha! Thanks Rob, I used to dissect melodies I liked to try to find out why they had an effect on me... and then I'd copy them :)

You're pretty good yourself for sure !

You get my vote,
Much more fun than a sunday boat,

What is a sunday boat you ask?
Much like my socks,
Holy.

Aw, that's lovely but

I wasn't seeking compliments
although I will accept 'em
But if I get a post with rhymes
I always will respect 'em

Lol you are setting a very high bar here, Wilson is considered a genius, not that many around. But I had a good think about it, the good melodies are more found in pop or jazzy songs than in Rock or Blues rock in my opinion. Looking at tracks I was involved, whenever it is a riff based song, the melodies are not at the front, it's more about power and feel than developed melodies. But if you look at more quiet or pop type songs, the melodies get more "interesting". So GemmyF (RIP) had that, if you listen to https://www.wikiloops.com/backingtrack-jam-134195.php for instance it has a lovely melody, as the singer was also the one writing the backing track. Another one on Wikiloops who has great Melodies is Moonchild, she has that Jazzy thing and reminds me of singers of the past, check out this one https://www.wikiloops.com/backingtrack-jam-108844.php

And then there is Shi who makes me almost cry (seriously) every time I hear one of her isolated vocal tracks - she has a great sense for melodies https://www.wikiloops.com/backingtrack-jam-212012.php

Thank you once again TeeGee. I particularly liked Moonchild's song.... and I think Shi's is so good because of her wonderful vocal range, something I think is important in a creative melody.
