Haha! Thank you Hartmut. My rat must be super-human, he managed to climb up a thin metal pole to the food. The problem is that the birds are quite messy eaters so there's always food on the ground.

Sometimes life throws it at you all at once, nothing big, just a run of small, annoying stuff... and this week was like that for me.
* My 6 panel shoji screen arrived from China but on opening I found one panel was broken. Returning stuff is too much hassle so I'm take the loss this time.
* The bed frame I ordered arrived but I didn't realise how hard it would be to assemble. The advert said "easy as 1 2 3" 2 hours later I disagree.
* The 5 x 4.5 meter carpet I bought online was delivered but left on the front drive, they didn't even ring the doorbell. It was much too heavy to lift. I got help to drag it indoors but there's no way it can be dragged upstairs.... the quality was poor and it looked grey instead of white. I'm still wondering what to do with it :(
* I was climbing over some stuff left on the floor, wearing large slippers. I slipped backward and smashed the back of my head on the corner of a side table.... ouch. It's still very tender :o
I've been looking at the website Temu recently because they sell a lot of Oriental housewares and I'm rather addicted. There is so much choice and it's so cheap. I'm trying to decide on a trompe l'oeil tapestry/mural to cover the whole wall, should I go for a forest, beach, mountains a balcony or just something abstract?
Today is the last football match of the season before we go down a division - will the manager go, will the players stay. do I even care any more :D
I just added more vocals to a FrankieJ template. You never know what you'll get from this prolific guy.... but it's always very good and very usable <3

Wow what a week
*spent a week at a trade show, talked for hours every day, but were good talks.
*made a new business friend, I was told by my colleagues that his voice and intonation are exactly like mine. Interesting. I can't hear it as I sound different to me than what other people hear, we all know this effect when hearing our own recordings.
*ate a lot of foods that I normally don't eat, i
I'm used to Mrs. Gee's excellent cooking. I noticed that I was very sluggish in the gym during the week, I think it's the food.
*working the whole weekend on cars, garden, workshop in and out of the house, no problem. Don't feel it. But standing a lot at the show, I got back ache. Go figure. We have a communal adjustable standing desk in our office, I might start using it for an hour or so each day
*figured out the problem of the misfire. Dooooh!! Should have known what it was much earlier, but my logic was wrong
*anyway, glad I sorted it. I am not the brightest or the fastest thinker, but I am a stubborn son of a soandso, if I got a problem I chew it on and on for days until suddenly the light goes on in my head 😂. So I get there in the end

I still prioritize living a healthier life. It would be a real shame to make the wrong choices for stupid reasons and then end up whining about it later — I’d rather avoid that. That’s why I occasionally upload photos of vegetable dishes. People shouldn’t think it’s just nonsense. The death cult that people live by without thinking is unfortunately very dominant. Even just tuning out advertising or blocking out bad advice from know-it-alls — those are major challenges. Small victories come when the scale shows one kilo less.
One meme has really stuck with me in my pursuit of health goals:
Not retire, but reset.
Not resign, but reset.
The books I’m reading right now are mostly over 30 years old. But I like that. I like the paper. And I like the calm and the order.

Yesterday I finished a lamp project for my grandson.
It was an old (50ies?) lamp with Bakelite parts, was all rusty. Probably used in a lab as it could be adjusted in all directions. I found a clamp and adapted it to the lamp. Most metal parts were de-rusted, polished, satin finish and Nickel plated. Converted it to 12V using an old charger I had (see, I knew it would be useful one day ;) ). 12V, so no danger of electrocution. No my grandson will get it and hopefully will read a lot of books in it's light smile

Summer is finally here. Temperatures are approaching +20 and the birch trees got new leaves a little over a week ago. 🙂
I'm sorry I haven't been active on Wikiloops. I haven't been able to make new songs and that's put me in a bad mood.
I also haven't listened to songs on Wikiloops because I haven't used headphones for a month. I'm sorry about that too.
But something good too. I decided to make my dream come true and signed up for a band playing course. 🙂 I don't know the right word, but the kansalaisopisto=(community college?) organizes it.
So I have 3 months to learn how to play before the course starts in the fall. Well, at least I know what I'm doing this summer. 🙂

Busy, yes. Also seem to be having a sort of musical midlife crisis. Been working on two tracks for weeks. One serves for practicing bass and I seem to be getting nowhere with that. I just don`t think "bass". So I`m spending tons of hours just listening to bass HDs, trying to get "that feel" into my brain. The other track is mostly a rearranging slog, apart from some minor keyboard adds.
What with everything else going on I just can`t drum up any enthusiasm for doing quick and dirty adds to new tracks at the moment.

Couldn`t sleep so I sat down to mix a track at 5am. Just to be safe I uploaded it first to my sandbox band. Didn`t sound too bad.
Also spent an hour on the phone with Yamaha Europe Headquarters and let them know what I think of their system architecture. Turns out that unless you`re a mac user you can not run (expensive!) Yamaha synths and workstations like the MODX or Montage in parallel to any audio interfaces that use the windows audio driver. Official Yamaha advice is that you either plug all your other instruments into the synth and use the audio interface of the synth with the Steinberg driver or (and this led to some comments from me for which I offer my apologies) you de-couple the synth, connect your standard interface, change the driver setting in your DAW, record your guitar or bass and then do the whole switcheroo again.
I need to do some research but I got the distinct impression that Yamaha had a hand in designing the new pricing structure for the german national railways, e.g. if you`re traveling on a sunday and a cow farted in Berlin and your ex girlfriend wore green pants yesterday you might get a 5% price reduction, else you pay 20% over the standard fare.

i'm sorta working through some bass as well. spending time listening to a track and drums, trying to decide on how the bass will go. do i go with the kick drum more, do i follow the guitar...do i meet in the middle?
haven't been on here much, but still playing...been trying to get a track going with my old singer. we'll see if it pans out :) you know how singers can be :D
hope all is well, wishing you all the best! :W

Oh no that means you also will have a severe intermittent latency problem with the interface 😂😂😂😂

It's May, what more can you say?
I have the feeling, this will come to an end. What's the future? When May ends and June starts? Are you ready to adapt this big upcoming change?
Are you psychologically yet ready for: It's June, what more can you say?

The end of May is always the end of my favorite month.
In the yearly equivalent ...
January is the first 6 years of life. February is from 6 to 12yrs. March is 12 to 18yrs and April is 18 - 24yrs.
May (24 to 30) is the perfect time to remain, the Springtime peak .... but after a quick Summer we are heading towards the Autumn of life and beyond.
We will let June speak for itself... will it be all Sunshine and flowers, holidays and activities.... or will it be filled with pests and unpredictable downpours? If you peep into wikiloopers lives during June will you be able to take the heat of their moments ... or will our writers be left out in the unexpected cold or rain?
Time will tell!

I can't play, so I'll try to be loud on the forum. 😁
Thank you all for keeping the diary alive.
This time I won't tell you about my day. It wasn't the best.
All I can say is that the keywords of my day were bad food and toilets.

I finished restoring the antique bread cutter. It's a Rotunda, probably a 100 ysrs old. I am actually going to use it. I found a similar one in a museum in Berlin https://sammlung-online.stadtmuseum.de/Details/Index/1454402 . I just love old things, and restoring them. I learned a lot during this restoration, too. It is very hard to find food save paint for instance...

@ TeeGee, you would love the TV show I watch The Repair Shop. The team restore broken stuff with a history and emotional story connected to them.
Friday 30th May.
* I've been working on my 'Japanese' bedroom, it's going very slowly. Yesterday I was trying to assemble a canvas wardrobe to replace the ugly one I pulled out. Unfortunately it's another Chinese import so the instructions and illustrations make no sense to me, there are 130 components :o. I had to smile at one phrase
"This way always mistake. Must fix this first" I think I made this mistake already :( also
"Don't touch steel pipe cut sharp" I haven't seen that yet but I'll feel it soon :D
* The 'Rat-man' came and found no evidence to worry about, he thought the rat was just passing through :) He did spot a squirrel jump from a tall tree to the roof and two missing roof tiles so this is probably what has been causing the scratching in the loft.
I just uploaded a silly song, not really a template, just something to get people into a carefree Friday mood.
Once again, may I say how much I appreciate contributions to the wiki diary <3

@Shamika - I do know the repair shop program, watch it sometimes, good program. I do watch a lot of restoring and machining videos on youtube, I learn a lot from them. Many times when Mrs. Gee hear the machining sound from these, she shouts "are you watching machine porn again?" :D
If I ever get reborn I would like to come back and work in a motorcycle museum. Or any place wehere you restore and repair stuff. Love it!
