I was awake and up so early this morning so while I drank my tea I decided to finish a vocal add I started yesterday. I think 5 a m might be a productive time for me to work on music.... but I have to be very quiet, I think the neighbours 3 doors away might hear me screaming sometimes.

Now what have I got to look forward to today? Oh no, Leicester City (football) have another game this afternoon. It has become like witnessing an accident and not being able to turn away or do anything to help. Even with this 3rd Manager in quick succession, we are so bad, we don't have a goal scorer and the players all look like they're just filling in time and taking their large wages until they retire. I may be joking but already I hear again the murmerings of "Manager out" It's not his fault, he just inherited a bunch of players he can't get rid of.

I still want to move home but it's a bad time right now.... everyone has put everything on hold until we hear what happens with tax increases etc in the Budget coming up.

There are so many fallen leaves now - I see people using blowers to move them around, I don't get that... just let them do what they do and enrich the soil for the future of their species :W

I was awoken by 'The thing in the attic' I thought it was coming through the ceiling. I don't know what it is but it's been around for a couple of years now. I've had people look up there, even the pest control guy couldn't see anything. Everyone says it's on the roof but I've spent ages watching the roof and the birds I've seen couldn't make the noise I hear. There is a squirrel that used to hang around (and he can jump) but most of the branches nearby have been removed so he must be a SuperSquirrel.

It's too late to go back to sleep now so I'm back at the loops, I noticed lots of members are online now. This time of day there's a crossover with people starting their day and others ending it.

Well, we've had Halloween and Bonfire Night so all that's left is Thanksgiving and Christmas plus a few (mostly Asian) religious and cultural celebrations which are growing locally now. However I'm fascinated by the special days like :-
World Hello Day, Cappuccino Day, Vegan Day and even Vasectomy Day, I dread to think how that is celebrated :o
Last year we did a challenge to write or link to songs for Special days, it was fun, I'd like to do that again.
A nice day coming up is "Kindness Day" (Nov 13) so on Thursday I aim to be kind to lots of wikiloopers, I'll listen to their music and give lots of thumbs :)
I asked once if there was a "wikiloops Day" but I can't remember the answer.... remind me.... or tell me when that could be and how to celebrate :)

Those chicks are jamming nicely together, the photography doesn't transport the chatting, but I listened a little and they have fun. I think the topics are gras, worm, fog, seed, here, there, attention, did you hear?,did you see?, somewhat gossiping probably also. Have to learn chicken language better. Perhaps they chatter about the absence of coffee sent in the air but I am not sure about that.

There is nothing more scary than seeing your own face, close up, scewed up and real on a video call. My family insist that I go onto whatsap and I resisted it, cameras are evil :) So now if I do it I must hold the camera at arm's length.... and possibly in the dark room and at a flattering angle. I know it's stupid, especially with people who see me live anyway, but if I don't see these things I can pretend that I'm as young and beautiful as I feel :(

Yes getting old is not nice at all, that is true Shamika. But, I don't let it get me down, and I take the way I look now on the chin so to say, duck it! I can't change it, so I have to accept it... at least fitness wise and strength wise I am up there, probably the fittest now since I was 40 years ago.
A few day ago I checked out a new trail for my Friday afternoon outdoor running section. Behind my house are woods, very hilly, so I planned a route on google maps, memorized it and went out. The first part I already knew, I ran it many times, about 1.5 km (~1 mile) uphill. When I reach this point usually I am already half dead, then I turned left and to my horror it kept going uphill. It did not stop. Duuuuuuck!!!!! It turned out that it was almost 3 km uphill, about 20 minutes. Then it was mainly downhill, including a wrong turn that took me into the woods without a path. But I made it alive. That was the hardest run I did in the past 40 years. I survived :D

In the evening I already had muscle sore im my legs, still went out with my poker buddies for a whiskey tasting and meal out in the countryside, it's in a cool restaurant in an old previously train station building. The good thing is, by the time we left the restaurant the whiskey made my muscle ache go away, which was good.

Unfortunately the night bus that was supposed to take us back left two minutes earlier than it should, and we missed it. Bar steward!!!!! We saw it drive away, 23:00 out in the country, really cold, not a soul around, what to do? Mate called up his missus, luckily she was still up and agreed to come and get us, but it would take around at least 30+ minutes to reach us. So we decided to walk towards her, too cold to stand. It's a 2 lane country road snaking along beside the infamous Ahr river that caused the big floods 4 years ago, but it was a bright night and we just walked a few kilometers until we saw the headlights approaching. All in all a great night!

More and more, the bike ride I often take is turning into my regular route. I’ve started calling it 'meine Runde'. By now, I know nearly every bump and stone (and bakeries too) along the way, and that feels familiar in a good way.

What I like about it is that, since it’s a loop, there’s no shortcut — once you start, you finish. I don’t need much motivation anymore; it’s just becoming part of my routine.

I’m a bit worried about winter, though. If it makes me stop, that’d be tough. But maybe it won’t be too bad. Or I’ll just switch to tires with spikes. I fear the salt on the paved road though.

I felt like a chained animal in band school today. I would have liked to play faster and angrier, but the teacher said my playing was too complicated. It’s not my fault if the music flowed from my fingers too eagerly, right?

Well, I admit that the teacher was right. The others were having trouble playing the song, so it was right to slow down the tempo.

Autumn is almost over. The trees haven’t had leaves for a long time and it’s really dark. I’m almost starting to wish it would snow soon so I could see something in the evenings.

However, I’m not going to let the darkness win me. I decided to fight back and brighten my day with color. I bought pink hand wraps for boxing.

Christmas is coming. I’ve already tried to come up with gifts for my kids.

My youngest son is very interested in listening to music, so buying a gift would be easy if Sabaton came to Finland for a gig. Now I have to think of something else related to the topic.

The 'Thing in my attic' has finally been spotted... it was a squirrel getting in under the eaves of the roof so I'll have to get those blocked... unfortunately, a large crack was also spotted in a wall holding up the roof so that also has to be checked out.
Since this house was bought almost every penny spent on it has been to keep it standing, waterproof, warm and safe.... I really wanted to make more aesthetic improvements like a new bathroom, kitchen and carpets etc which are all stuck in the 1970s .... should have had a full survey done before buying it.... too late now.

Friday 14th November

I had to go out in the cold, rain and extreme wind this morning. It blew my umbrella inside out several times. I realised that my shoes let in wet and I got splashed by a passing car :o When I got home I had a horrific headache, so bad I felt sick. I had to lie down in a dark room and take pain killers. I slept for 2 hours and felt better on waking.

I'm just setting up a new youtube channel where I will be narrating chapters of stories I've been writing for ages, I will back them with my own music. The first one is called Leonard's Story, it begins in 1972. It's about an awkward youth, his family and love life. He aspires to be a writer. He has beautiful thoughts but can't put them into writing. I don't know if any wikiloopers would be interested, I'd like to pick up some regular subscribers eventually. I'll leave a link when I get further into it.

I haven't managed to listen to many uploads today because of the migraine but some of those titles look interesting.

Yesterday I did something that I don't normally do, I danced a waltz and a samba.

We were supposed to have boxing training, but the coaches had a surprise plan, so we danced waltz and samba 😂

I was horrified when I heard about it, but I have to admit that it was fun! 😁

(If you don't know what I look like, I have long hair and black clothes in the video).

@) Aito, I was tempted to open that facebook link but I've deactivated my account and I don't want to start it up again. I never found fb useful and every time I logged in I had to prove I was a real person :( How many traffic lights? how many motor bikes? AAAAH how many times do I have to go through this rubbish just to find out that no-one has been near my page for weeks. I get more social interaction here at the loops. My 'friends' on fb weren't into music anyway.

I notice that Hartmut is clinging to September.... if I could have one month to stay in forever it would be May.

Shamika, I go to facebook but don't have to prove my identity or solve puzzles...strange. But if you are happy here, that's all that matters :)

If someone had told me that one day I played with musicians from all over the world I would have taken for a madman. Today this is real! Thanks Dick
