I had some connection problems in the last couple of weeks, thankfully Dick fixed it for me so I am back online as before. And I saw that the October diary has not been started yet, so here it is.
There is no specific subject this month, maybe just the changing weather as cold weather is creeping in.
On the bad side, it means cold and wet, and I got to change to winter tires on the car, which I hate doing - even though I got all the comfort tools such as pneumatic lift and battery operated impact driver...it also means very few bike rides
ON the good side it means less working in the garden, more time to spend in the garage, looking forward to the festive time and visits from children and relatives, it means Christstollen which I LOVE eating :D , and I generally love the end of the year feeling that comes up, don't know why.
So here it is guys, let's hear your vies on the Autumn :)

Thank you for keeping the Diary going TeeGee. I tried starting a themed October thread but I think that was a mistake so I thought it had finally died :|
Keeping it simple is best after all, I'm learning that :)
At the moment I'm going through an obsessive remix period, there are so many tempting uploads every day.
I'm at an advantage because being a vocalist and a rather speedy lyric writer I can do several adds in a day, can't guarantee the quality but it satisfies an upload itch :)
Someone mis-typed my name as Jamika today and I thought that was very apropriate.... maybe I'll finally change my name :D

We could make a fancy sport out of staring at Christstollen and not eating a bit of it. For hours!
Or picking the guitar, tuning it, and not plucking a single string not once! Or finish a remix or recording and not uploading it. Ha! That would be an harsh October!

-Autumn and darkness have arrived. I'm trying to forget about it and I've noticed that I'm already thinking about Christmas. Maybe it's a bit early to think about it, and I don't even want a long winter and snow, but Christmas and New Year are things I like.
-I went to the doctor last week. I'm getting a hearing aid in my left ear, but it won't help me much.
But for some reason that information made me feel better, I even put headphones in both ears when I play bass. I didn't want to use my left ear at all for six months because its poor condition irritated me.
Well, in January I know how much I can hear with the hearing aid, but I know that I'll never get low sounds back.
Otherwise, things are going quite well here, hopefully there too.:)

Rocktober weather has been great. Enjoying the cool down and hot coffee always goes better with cooler weather <3
Windows 10 is end of life this month I believe, although I'll probably keep my daw machine on Win10, I don't feel like going through the hassle.

I'm so sorry about your hearing problems Aito, for a musician that is a real blow but I'm glad you're finding ways to stay positive about it. I hope it wasn't loud music that caused it but I suspect it could be. If you can hear high sounds better you may have to take up a different instrument.... how about a violin or a flute :)

I was really disappointed. I seriously thought I would never play bass again.
Now it feels like this isn't over yet. I just got a taste of what it's like to play in a band. Next I want to find people to make songs with. I'm not interested in playing covers.
If I can't play bass, maybe I'll start playing the fipple flute. I know the basics because it was mandatory in school.đ

I Haven't been on wikiloops for a while because I have been busy quit a while with things off line. I Made my own singingbowl at a workshop. I Changed my bedroom into a music chamber for all the other instruments beside my flutes. I No it's getting a out of hand . I started with one flute. So now I use the smallest room to sleep in and the middelroom for recording and my flutes and enjoying my new room. Yesterday I made the first recording using my self made singing bowl. I Understand the problem of Alto verry well because I also have a problem with hearing low sounds. When I record a drum as I did yesterday it's hard to judge if the sound is okee. So if any one read this with good ears al feedback is welkom.

Lol I've been listening to loud music, riding bikes and listening to headphones for many many years, until my ears said "fuzz you!". I still hear ok, but high frequencies are gone forever. There is a bit of a ringing that never sleeps, but it doesn't bother me too much. Life goes on, for the last 25 years I ride with ear plugs, and pay more attention to my ears.

In 2010/11 I released my first music Album at Bandcamp, it was a big one with 21 songs so I called it "21" - you know what's coming :) .... that's right Adele brought out her "21" Album (because of her age I think)
I can tell you, My only download was from a guy who gave me NO money - I had foolishly said people could pay what they wanted. Adele's sales ....... 31 million :(

Nothing special to report at the moment, weather is lousy so riding the bike is not much fun with all the slippery leaves on the ground.
Went to play poker with the boys yesterday, the host had one of those small gas fired pizza ovens, I was amazed that it only took approx. 2 minutes in it to cook the pizza :D And it was bloody tasty as well!! Mrs. Gee makes a very good pizza in our regular oven, obviously takes longer but it is baked on a stone tray and comes out great. The only unfortunate thing is that Mrs. Gee does not really think Pizzas are that great, so she only makes it once or twice a month... what a pity...
On other exiting news, I recently bought a fairly cheap used 3 jaw chuck for my lathe, it was all rusty and nearly seized solid. I took it apart, cleaned it via electrolytic process, a lot of elbow grease and behold the manufacturer name and some markings were just about visible. Turns out it was German made around 1935 - 45, so it is 80 to 90 years old :O And the quality is really good, now that it is cleaned it works fine. They did not have planned obsolescence in those days it seems...

I try to keep up to date with the lingo and slang of music today, but lately I keep seeing the term "Riffage" I know what it means but I've never used it or seen it much, now it seems to be the IN word. I once created the band name "Midriff" did a few riffy songs under that umbrella but I stopped using it. I think I will dig it out again and see what is in the file.
I also like Lick, Banger, Riddim, Gully and Chainsaw but there must be so many buzz words like these!

in the 90s, late 90s i believe, there was a site, riffage.com
you could upload your band tracks and i think the audience voted on it or could stream it or both...it was also an opportunity to hopefully get heard by a label too i believe. i used to upload my band tracks to it. 'riffage' always stuck in my vernacular :)

The Basera how plays de drums in our duo Bought an Harmonium on his trip to India. We have a new item to put to our gigs.
Don't know if my neigbours are happy that I have a new instrument to practice so, I do it for a few short times a day.
Looked up some things on the internet and gave it a try

I'd forgotten about the Diary until I saw Navota's post.
I think the threads have done well to last so long but comparing it to January there were so many more people joining in.
We even had a bunch of people making live videos of driving, cooking, DIY, We saw people's houses, gardens, pets... we had news about family, hobbies and leisure.
Lots of music was discussed and posted.
We found out what people had for dinner.... it was all so interesting but now.... well, I guess the novelty has worn off and November won't live to tell any tales.
I haven't done anything new or different, it's just the same ol' same ol' :( I'm only posting here now because since the clocks went back I have an extra hour to kill.
I did 2 very different remixes today, once with very thoughtful lyrics about the effect of a Full Moon... and the other was a really cheesy lyric for a loud Rock vocal.
The Shout box is crawling along so slowly that the evening 'hellos' come straight after the 'morning' ones with an 8 hour gap. OK, I'm getting moany now so I'll sign off. Goodbye Diary, maybe I'll see you again after Christmas :)

I went to a family meeting in a very old and preserved town in Germany called "Rothenburg ob der Tauber" - if you are ever in south Germany go visit, it's very nice, see Picture. On the main square they have a world famous "Glockenspiel Meistertrunk". The carillon at the Ratsherrn-Trinkstube in Rothenburg ob der Tauber is a popular attraction,The legend of the âMaster Drinkâ is told daily on the hour from 10 am to 10 pm Two windows open, revealing General Tilly and the then-former mayor, Nusch, who empties a 3.25-liter jug ââof wine in one gulp to save the city from destruction. The historical festival play "Der Meistertrunk" (The Master Drink) is performed every year at Whitsun as a four-day event with performers, military campaigns, and markets.
10 years ago I visited it for the first time, and it was the first time I've seen a forest of selfie sticks raised in unicon by a huge group of chinese tourists filmong the above mentioned display.

On a different subject, I had a long discussion with a 19 year old relative over dinner and drinks. Although he has very different view than mine it was a great discussion, and I was so happy to see that the young generation, at least in my family, is able to discuss and agree to disagree without going bezerk, cancel and getting triggered.

I was reading a forum thread from 2018 about following so many loopers it was hard to keep up, this led to followers giving thumbs automatically.
For that reason I don't follow anyone, it's the music more than the person that interests me so I tend to look at new releases for something that appeals... maybe a title, maybe a newby, maybe someone who has given me good feedback. We have to realise that most of us have good songs and also terrible ones at times.
I wish that no-one would follow me because I feel sorry that they get a notification that I've uploaded something and that song may be already deleted by me. I do upload a lot of songs because making them is not too difficult as a writer and vocalist only these days. I sometimes add an old 'completed' song and again I feel guilty because it's not in the spirit of WL Jamming, oddly these often get more attention than the 'Work in progress' uploads:D.
So today I'm holding back from adding remixes, I decided to look out of the window as the leaves were tumbling down. It inspired a poem rather than a song. I'll leave it here if anyone is interested in poetry and Nature.
"This morning the leaves were falling like snow
I watched them fly with each small blow
They lay on the ground like battle scarred dead
in slowly built piles as each tree was shedding
Every year without fear the foliage is thrust
By Nature they live and in Nature they trust.
But Humans hang on clutching fate in their grip
Resisting a force that may cause them to slip
No-one's immortal and that will not change
Not accepting the obvious seems rather strange
By Nature we live but we don't have the trust
until Nature has turned us, like leaves, into dust."
PS... if anyone wants it for a song I will gladly recite/sing it.
