First an admission: I intended to use brushes. But they fell apart on me during a take. So brushes are now dead until I can replace them. I tried to keep it gentle and subtle, going for a standard shuffle, opening onto the ride for Titi's splendid solo. I attempted the old 'jazz open hi-hat' thing but it sounded, to me, contrived, hence trying a traditional shuffle instead. Doing the whole 'jazz ride' thing through the whole track left it, to ...
