I decided to watch 'Tommy' last night. I never really paid much attention to Keith Moon but I wanted to know what it is about his playing that is so distinctive and see if I can do a template in his style.
First off, he was off his tits on horse tranquillisers most of the time - that's not an option. But there's certain trademarks I could see in his playing:

Agreed. And thank you. He's very hard to impersonate whilst staying fluid. Plus it's *really* hard playing without any reference music. I just imagined Who riffs in my head whilst I recorded hence it all being a bit random.
