Some keys--like Tom Petty's keyboardist. There's a thread of rock that goes from Buddy Holly to some early Brit Invasion bands down thru to Tom Petty and the Travelling Wilburys- It's music where the gretches, ricks and 335s play thru vox amps and the rhythm guitar is not strumming but picking each string separately--and there is always harmony.
