Three sections same instrument different treatment/effect. Start; 1:10; 2:10. Would love to have comments/feedback about the use of these sounds for sax. Great track from Miconom (sorry about using it for an experiment). Sax is a 98 year old Buescher soprano in the key of C...go figure!

unfortunately not in concert pitch +1

Wade Right you are! C horns are notoriously bad for intonation. Takes a long time playing to learn to "compensate"...will try harder. +1

onewholeft Not you Wade the template I was going to add bass but it's about a half tone out and I couldn't be bothered retuning +0

Wade OK, I never work with a tuner so have no idea and just try to match what I hear. But I do have an idea of what you can do! Most programs (like Audacity) have a "change pitch" function. Take the whole track and put in concert pitch. Would love to hear you jump in. +1

Marceys Hmm, hope there will be some sax-friends from his early days at the party, most of them are long dead.... :) +0

Wade Thanks cschlote! Maybe you could plug your Baritone into one of your Bass boxes and have fun with that? Good fun to find new way to hear a sax. +1

Wade Thanks OlivBee. Just the sort of response I needed. I'm too close and get wrapped up with these tests, so need others ears (after a while) to hear what's working OK (or not). +1

OliVBee welcome !! always a joy listening to you ;) +0
Lutz
All 3 sounds have their own right, depending on context. For the third one a special context needed...
Liking the first one best though, which is the nearest to the natural voice of the sax.
Many say the very old saxes are better (though harder to play because less ergonomic).

Wade Many thanks Lutz. There is a clear pattern in responses, for which I'm very grateful. I can vouch for the tone being special, and the ergonomics crap. Not that bad though unless you are trying to play quickly on the pinky table (G#, Low C#,B, Bb) the rest is OK. +0
