It's always a compliment when anyone wants to join in... in fact the best of compliments. Thanks for joining in. +1

BluesyLucille Thanks, Wade. To be honest, I’m still a bit hesitant to play this kind of song. I think it’s beautiful, and I’m careful not to overdo it so I can capture the feeling it conveys. I hope I managed to do that.🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 +1

Wade You've always got the idea of feeling your way through the music. You were very tentative, and that may have been because you hadn't locked into the chord structure.

It's a situations that we as "jammers" face when we feel something and wish to be a part of it yet aren't locked in. I often just give up if I can't make a track work after three tries. That doesn't say much for my fortitude, but sometimes we just don't give the music we are attempting the time to fully digest it.

My frustration level is unfortunately quite low, but I also download so many tracks that there are lots of alternatives. I successfully record maybe one out of 5 tracks. It then sits waiting to be edited, and again comes under scrutiny with maybe only half worthy of being edited. Even with being so "picky" I still have hundreds of tracks not posted and even more unedited. I'm a glutton for playing, yet know that posting them all means that few will be listened to. So it's my long term "exit strategy" for when I can no longer play (physical or mental degradation). They can also be posted after my death. Old people (I'm close to 80) think in terms of "legacy".

I don't know if this answers your question, yet it offers a very different perspective of how I make music.

Cheers, Francis.

BluesyLucille Thanks for your reply. To be more specific, there are two sides to my musical activity. When I use anonymous backing tracks, I play for myself, so I don’t hesitate. If it’s bad, I delete it; otherwise, I post it.
The second aspect emerged after I got more seriously involved with Wikiloops. It’s become like a band with real musician partners. Their playing, their sensibility, and the result they’re aiming for have become very important to me because it’s about creation. So communication goes far beyond the technical or structural aspects of the songs.
It’s true that some pieces sometimes seem complicated to me, but not necessarily in terms of execution, and maybe I’m not immersing myself in them enough.
In this case, I found your performance truly beautiful, so it was unthinkable not to follow up after you. When the bar is set high, hesitations and doubts arise, and more than technique, it is the prevailing feeling that takes precedence. It is necessary for me to feel the same way after playing as I did before. Obviously, this doesn’t necessarily win over my bandmates, but I haven’t cheated myself or others.
Wikiloops, above all else, is an extraordinary human adventure.
Best regards.
