Wade I've got a weird question for you... did you ever think of yourself like the "bots" in the matrix hooking up all the "unaware" maple trees to "sap off" their wonderful juice? Nothing negative about that from my perspective as a lover of maple syrup! +1

You are right in a way. Some producers don't care for the trees. They make the pressure of the pumps to high to take more and more maple water. Also some cut all the other species of trees to have 100% of maple trees. This is against logic.
Also some use trees that are less than 8 inches in diameter or they don't respect the number of holes they make on the trees.
But most of the producers respect the rules for a proper use of this ressource. Finally and like in every kind of agricultural production, respect and knowlwdge are the keys to a respectful production. +1

Wade I didn't realize how my (not entirely serious) remark had some grain of truth to it. Anyway I'm glad to know that you have respect for your trees. We need to have respect for nature and be a partner and not just see it as a resource to plunder. I'm very sorry to hear that there are those who have that sort of "corporate thinking". +0
