In a Full Calm
A melody in my head, it's known but I don't know what it is anymore

I was looking for a melody rather than a solo, and this tune came to me subconsciously, and it fit with Mario's chords.
I didn't overdo it.
But that said, I'd like to know the title (if you know)?
This inspiration must come from the late 70s, when I was listening to a jazz band in a concert café playing the entire REAL BOOK 1 & 2 endlessly. :) +1

OK, it finally came to me! The tune is Dizzy Gillespie’s Night in Tunisia. https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=Night+in+Tunesia#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:b0e8b658,vid:gfLVVHxk4IM,st:0

Wow excellent Wade :W
That's exactly it... I had this Bebop version in my head
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbZTeYQiCN8
And there I just discovered one on the violin
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbSWdCnIcaM
I spent a year in a jazz workshop at a conservatory to (try) to work on standards, and at the end of the year the teacher gives you an (evaluation) it said... (very good musical ear, but must now learn the basics of music theory)
And that's when I discovered WL... so I dropped out of the conservatory :) +2

Smart move! Academics are great at teaching history and technical stuff, but fail at teaching creativity. The arts are not engineering. Knowing theory is OK, but it's not a good way to become a creative improviser. Hearing what you want to play and being one with your instrument is the key. The technocrats concentrate on just developing fast technique via formulated patterns. It's like watching the world's fastest typist... impressive for a minute or so, but what have they typed? Is it a great novel or just a lot of words?
