Gotchya. Peter filled me in on EWIs.I figured exactly what you said but have been referring to it as EWI.
Wasnt sure if there was a difference but seems EWI and EVi are the same with perhaps the only difference being a reed as opposed to wind? Or no, they are the same? Thats where I got confused.
I would assume theres a reed type device that is converted to digital signal.

Paul also plays EWI. There are quite a few different wind controllers. They all start with a wind sensor.

Yes, although EWI's accommodate numerous fingering schemes, including trumpet, the EVI is strictly trumpet fingering oriented. One of the best resources/explainations: https://www.patchmanmusic.com/WindControllerFAQ.html

Okay thanks for explaining that. I know a little about wind instruments.I played trumpet in grade school and won awards for playing the "Rocky" theme. Then I discovered to get the girls , you needed a guitar. Should have kept with it as I was very good .
I was about 12 or 13 and band leader always made me play this every concert and I would get down and take off from the sheet music trying to get all crazy..I considered taking up clarinet because Diane Dudek, my childhood crush played that and I would have been seated near her.

When you guys play the EWI I am a huge fan . They sound so good and so see potential to add synth effects to them tastefully.
