Vocals have been a pain in the a** since the invention of the microphone.Keep doing it over and over and over again like everybody else.The technical term is called "paying your dues". It involves listening and many mistakes.
As far as mixing volume levels you have it. You can always check mix volums by listening in mono and at low volume levels.
As far as quality , what exactly do you feel is the problem?
If you give your ears a break for a couple of days , youll probably hear the mix completely different. +3
