Black Heart
Another very old song of mine. Never really happy with it and tried to make the main riff a bit more funky (and a bit more complicated to be 'cool') but it never sounded right.
The middle 8 is from another song 'Heartbreaker' that I never finished (in fact I pretty much only had the riff and I could never make it into anything else, so at least it's now found a home...at least I think it fits in there)...

Thanks man! Not really sure about my influences if I'm honest, but in my head the intro verse riff was 'I Love Rock 'n' Roll' by Joan Jett (hence the track title) mainly because it starts on the double hit and a blatant Led Zepplin 'Whole Lotta Love' rip off in the background of the middle 8 (I didn't mean it to be and didn't really make the connection until afterwards and now can't 'un-hear' it, but I left it in anyway).... Possibly the Van Halen sound in the chorus comes from the fact that I'd just got really into the type of power chords where you drop the bass note a fret for the second chord or start it one fret below and slide it up... anyway I figure that's the bit you mean... ;)
