Cheese Please. And A Tea Towel

Great piece of retro soul/groove from Diamant, Marc and Dimeomax. Decided to get the full effect, I had to see if I can get a more retro sound. So I bunged a tea towel across the snare drum and added more Moongel to my toms. Instant '70s. Then stuffed an over-sized plate reverb on.
Beyond that, straightforward 16th-note groove with disco-style hi-hats on the bridging sections. Mix-wise, I dialled down the overheads mix and took some top end off them ...

Really dig this! I would have like to hear more hi-hat though. Your hi-hat work is so delicious!

Marceys
Yes Martin! Very tight playing and a very good mix. You treated the sound with style and this prooves you don’t need all these plugins when you dare to improvise with stuff to colour your sound…..but that is easy for me to say…i just play piano’s and synths….they sound good out of the box….accoustic instruments need treatment and much more knowledge to record them properly! <3:W:Y
