Another sweet and intriguing story. Your spoken delivery can take the (seemingly) most insignificant things and draw attention to them.

I have a particular soft spot for spiders and always catch them and put them outside. Flies don't get the same treatment, but recognize what a good job they do in cleaning up the dead sheep next door!

I'm not real tolerant of spiders… And some of the insects down here are foreign to me… Sometimes I just leave them alone and hope that they find a crevice.

My liking spiders probably has something to do with being a "grower" of many trees, crops, etc. Spiders, along with bats, lizards, birds, and frogs, are the guys who keep bugs from taking over. They are the predators that enforce the balance in nature. When Chairman Mao declared war on birds the result was famine due to bugs. Similar things happened with DDT which killed off predators as much as the bugs, but the bugs multiplied back up faster. Predators are what keeps everything in balance.

Pythons in their natural habitat are OK (but not Florida!). Cane toads are pretty awful everywhere and wipe out the predators who would otherwise keep them in check. In Australia they have been a nightmare. It's taken several decades and many natural predators going almost extinct before some figured out to turn them over and just eat them from the underside. The poison glands are on the back of their neck/back.
