bluvation I haven't been to Blackpool since the late fifties/early sixties. For me it holds some fond memories. When we were kids my dad organized a street outing each year to the illuminations, for us kids it was such a thrill travelling up north from London's east end by coach for a long weekend at this magical place with bright lights where the people spoke with this neat northern accent and seemed really friendly to us cockney kids who spoke proper English :D I sometimes watch YouTube videos of that area to re-trace the areas I remember, like most places they change over the years but I was happy to see the Pleasure Beach amusement park was still up and running where as teenagers we spent a lot of time. I also remember making my first recording with my cousins and friends crowding into a tiny recording booth on the seafront and acing our acapella version of Charlie Drake's 'Please Mr. Custer' on a floppy 45 record :D +1

MikeyJ I associate Blackpool with my one and only ride on a roller coaster which scared me out my pants and after which I was violently sick:( Glad you’ve got some fond memories of the place !I remember those little recording booths though never used one .I remember the listening booths that record shops used to have where me and my mates would all crowd into after school to listen to Cream and Pink Floyd whose albums we couldn’t afford to buy.I don’t know why the record shop owner tolerated us as we never bought anything ! :) +2

bluvation Yes I spent a lot of time in those record shop listening booths, great memories. Who knew then we'd one day be making our own music on the internet and collaborating worldwide with folk who've never even owned a record player. Back then MP3 and Wav would have been three politicians paddling in the ocean :D +2

Great nostalgia Mike, we could do with more of that kind of atmosphere these days I think. So enjoyable hearing that brass band sound again. Thanks for the great remix and memories :W<3 +1

MikeyJ Thanks Gerry. When I heard your guitar part I immediately heard a trombone part.Initially I was going to attempt a trad jazz kinda thing but the sea sounds got me thinking about childhood holidays and so it turned into how it ended up.It’s funny , When I was younger used to think brass band music was so corny and not cool and now I love the sound , so quintessentially English :) +1

bluvation It fit perfectly :W I've always thought brass bands have a wonderful nostalgic sound to them. Peter Skellern used them a lot on his songs. They also make me want to walk up the hill and buy a loaf of Hovis :D
Trad jazz I like too though. Thanks again Mike :)
