I remember that in the 80s and early 90s the memphis horns were around playing with several blues and rock guys in the studio and on TV gigs. Man, these guys where brilliant. A shame both of them have left us.

Just a really powerful instrument? When I was young, I was interested in 3. Drums, Bass & Sax? I went with drums! LOL!

I think sax is an instrument that gets very close to the human voice. When you listen to the very old James Brown stuff then it's the drums, bass, guitar and sax that makes the funk. And when you listen to old bossa nova records you can Stan Getz literally hear breathing through the thing.
