Dark, moody and FUN! Ernie's evil birds made a cameo appearance. grin

Your leads sound awesome Ron as usual .. epic moody stuff!!! Wicked playing. Perfect fit. ding ding, bring out the dead! shockgrin That old amp is awesome as well. I had an old traynor tube bass amp years ago that was sort of similar to the bassman.. sold it for 50 bux .. I suspect it's worth more than that now. +1

Riffraff Thanks for the listen my friend. smile

Would that Traynor "Bassman" be the YBA-1? They are amazing amps! I have one of those too. The YBA-1 is like the love child of a Bassman and a Marshall Plexi. Built like tanks and designed to be easy to work on. Pete Traynor made great amps. I modded mine to be a little more Plexi. It only requires a couple of component value changes and some new volume pots. It smokes every Marshall I've ever owned.

Ernie440 That looks exactly like the one Ron, I just looked up some pics yesterday and yeah, it's got the double set of plug ins on the left. Long time ago .. I'm sure mine had the Traynor logo on it though. I should have kept it. +1

Riffraff Mine should have the Traynor badge on it but I bought it used for $400 about 7 years ago and it was already missing when I got it. Common issue. I swear people remove them and sell them on Ebay when they sell the amp for a little extra cash. angry I think they go for about $500 CAD these days. They are one of the best vintage amp values you can buy. Oversized Hammond transformers and the same mustard signal caps you find you find in '60s & '70s Marshalls. They're a few cap & resistor changes away from vintage Marshall Plexi for 1/4 the price. grin +1

Ernie440 Awesome stuff bro. My current 1000 watt hartke has one little tube in the pre-amp section. I think if I was going to consider getting an all tube amp .. I would just buy one of the new ones. That's just me tho .. it's so cool if you can get the old stuff working right. Classique sounds grin rocker +1

Riffraff 1000w, holy smokes! Be careful, that could knock your house off it's foundation. grin +1

Ernie440 haha, it's nice to have enough power! I remember reading an article long time ago about how bass is projected and saying something like, if a guitarist has 25 watts the bass player should have 100 and so forth ... I think it was around 4x the watts to be able to match the volume level. Just as a real generalization. I maybe off some but that was the idea.

Then there's the other thing about tube watts being alot different than solid state watts. 200 watt tube bass amp is alot more desirable and effective than 200 watts solid state. I used a 210 watt S.state. peavey for years playing live ... it was never loud enough unless it was teeny room.

Riffraff I was surprised by that amp. The late '70s early '80s ultralinear amps are supposed to be super clean so I didn't expect it to break up like that. Just what I need, another keeper. This makes 15. LOL! +1
