There are many ways to have an introduction. Much of modern music has no intro. In the past the introduction could take up half the song and have almost no relationship to what was to come. Everything is fair and it's a matter of following your musical vision.
Long way of saying I like yours and it works for me. But many other into styles also work and does having no intro.
A long unrelated intro is like a second song. What most people relate to (or not) is what the entire track says or feels like. Short intros can be clever (like yours) but aren't the "meat"/body of what people remember. The long intro has a better chance of being remembered, especially if it's like a different tune. +0
