Thanks B1 ! Presently I'm using a TC Electronic Nova System for effects.
It's a processor for guitar but it has such transparent, ''studio quality'' effects that it's easy to tweak them makes them to work perfectly with bass
On the ''bass line'' part i use a patch made up of Compressor + a bit of Chorus & just a tad of EQ..
The ''bass solo notes'' so to speak, i use a Compressor + a wide Chorus + a touch of an Envelope Filter +
The bass used here was my Spector ReBop 5 string ..
Then upon mixing i treat the whole w/ Ozone 5 for a further bit of EQ, Harmonic Exciter & Analogue Limiter all applied discreetly, like a little sprinkling of confetti...

It's funny because when i started i kept very much along the ''traditional bass path'' : 1976 Fender Precision & POOM, POOM POOM, POOM, warm velvety type of sound… just had always a bit of compressor.
Lately, i've kind of discovered the Joys of effects ( & the Pitfalls as well.. ) & have been experimenting on some ''wilder'' Chorus settings, some delays & yes, IT IS GREAT FUN !!
Then of course, It's a thrill people like the stuff…
