Everyone You Ever Loved Will Die
So this is a nice, jolly upbeat pop song! Only kidding, it's another slow, drawn-out lamentation on mortality :) It extends my interest in evolving sounds with a long attack - I've been using various modulation filters to add polyrhythms to the synth sounds I've programmed so they sound jittery and stretched. I've also adopted a technique from techno music where you tune a kick-drum with a sub-bass, that underpins the track. Hopefully the two combine to make something unusual ...

This thought summed up in the title of this piece is so true, reflecting my intimate thought on the subject. Source of great melancholy. Indeed, the first curse of the human condition is not to die but to survive our deceased loved ones in my opinion. And the second curse for man is to be endowed with a brain that allows him to become aware of this absurd condition. (as Albert Camus and André Malraux said).
A very thoughtful model Dan, and also very well built that takes me into a dark landscape where I sadly and aimlessly travel. +4

Yeah, I read a lot of Camus when younger. Now, when I'm older, mortality stops becoming an abstract thing of philosophy and something very real lying in wait. But there's also a kind of power in facing this fact and carrying on - it can be liberating to know, ultimately, our lives are but tiny moments in the vast scheme of things.

Yeah, I spent a lot of time messing with waveforms and oscillators trying to get the sounds I wanted. A lot of trial and error :)
