The Industrial Revolution, now also known as the First Industrial Revolution, was the transition to new manufacturing processes in Europe and the United States, in the period from about 1760 to sometime between 1820 and 1840. This transition included going from hand production methods to machines, new chemical manufacturing and iron production processes, the increasing use of steam power and water power, the development of machine tools and the rise of the mechanized factory system. The Industrial Revolution also led to an unprecedented rise in the rate of population growth.

In more specific terms, there is overshoot when the ecological footprint of a human population in a geographical area exceeds that place's carrying capacity, damaging the environment faster than it can be repaired by nature, potentially leading to an ecological and societal collapse. Overpopulation could apply to the population of a specific region, or to world population as a whole.[1]

Why does the human race damage the world they are living in? Why is this species so poisonous?

Some scientists identify the overpopulation as the most impacting fact of exhausting nature's capability to recover from human influence. The loss of forest areas, the decline of availability of drinking water for the poorer regions and the massive increase of carbon dioxide heating up the world's climate are only examples.

The vital problem here is that most of the damage only is going back to the western industry nations located in Europe and the USA. The population of these regions make 15% of the world population. 85% just looked at the Europeans and the Americans making party over 200 years.

If 85% decide that the coming century is their party time, which already has started and only is fair, the problem "human being" will become unmanageable.
The sanguinary "I want it too"-mentality of human beings becomes a killer by global business, communication and information.
The only way out will be getting the foot off the gas pedal here in the west, where the party started and still remains. But by means of 200 years of marketing fortune and richness nobody wants to be the first to renounce being super rich!
