Hot Dogs, Cherries in a Pie
I could eat a horse on the 4th of July
Pork chops and chicken on the grill
Gonna chugalug till I get my fill
Mama's in the kitchen with something on the stove
Daddy's in his chair just taking off the load
The dogs are busy chewing up sneakers on the deck
Little brothers showing off a hicky on his neck
He got it last night just behind the barn

Well daddy finally found the banjo that they hid
They dropped down the outhouse then they closed the lid
He cleaned it up, tuned it up, sounded good as new
Then he played a verse of Good Ol' Mountain Dew
Mamma got her washboard, thimbles and a drink
Said I like your picking but boy that banjo stinks
Now everyone was laughing at the look on grandpa's face
The chickens did a line dance all around the place
They toddled and they waddled and chuckled arm in arm
