Velvet Sun IV
Superb track from Frank, as always. I'll make no attempt to disguise the fact I did this track in sections - just not enough time to practice all the changes and beats I had in mind so I'll apologise now that this is not a 'jam' but a bunch of takes until I made a mistake and then punched in..!
Too many sections and changes to describe here, I just tried to run with those lovely ostinatos.
Enjoy
HD has reverb too.

fantastic result ! very dreamy and punchy template !! there is absolutely no rule in my books as for an ideal recording process ... i know that a quest for the mythic perfect one shot only makes the process ALOT longer and in the end you lose the energy and the fresh ideas you had. Recording in sections is usually how i'm proceeding myself to (heavily) speed up the recording phase ;)

I agree wholeheartedly. I often do tracks in pieces because I often can’t sit down and take the time to work out everything. What I tend to do is record until I make an error or play something I don’t like. I then go back 6-8 bars and punch in from there so I have a previous take to blend in with the current. I never punch in for fills or starts of sections. I might punch in a few bars earlier so I can make sure the changeover is smooth and natural.
