Wow!! That is so cool. I was only 9 when they came to Vancouver, Canada in 1964, and my dad, well he thought they were just a bunch of noise. Go figure.

I probably subconsciously at a young age made the decision to become involved in the music biz at that point in time :D +1

Great story. I became a huge Beatles fan shortly after they came to Vancouver. At one time, I had all of their albums. Crazy me, I got rid of them in one of my many moves. Next to the Beatles, the musical event that gave me the biggest influence was Woodstock (and, before that, Iron Butterfly's In-a-Gadda-Da-Vida).

It is fun to reminisce. My dad had the foresight to buy and keep their early records. I wanted to go to woodstock but mother and dad would not allow it.
Drums being my first serious instrument I had to learn In-a-Gadda-Da-Vida. Everyone did then. +1

Three guys I knew use to do the drum solo playing their hands on their knees and making sounds with their mouths. They were bang on! My problem with Woodstock was that I was only 13, and 3000 miles away. Joe Cocker's cover of Get By With a Little Help from My Friends was one of the only times I think someone bested the Beatles with one of their songs. Memories! Music does that, doesn't it. It marks the stages and places in our lives.

Yes it does.
I still occasionally play that solo on the dashboard of the car with my hands.
Drives the wife crazy :D +0
