nadrek Merci Tof. Any idea how to get rid of that hum? My electrics are not so clean on this bass built in 1982. Can it be removed with a plugin or some kind of effect? +2

OliVBee get rid of this kind of hum is typically a job for a noise reductor plugin ... Waves has a good variety of different kinds : X-Hum, X-Crackle, X-Noise, Z-Noise ... +2

GlezBass If you use Audacity, in the program's own menu there is a standard noise reduction tool, but it should be used in moderation because it sometimes modifies the tone of the bass, however playing with it can greatly reduce parasitic noise and even sliding of the fingers by the stringa, to minimize its effect better to use strings type fltwound (not roundwound) +1

nadrek Thanks Mario. I will take a look at Audacity. Yes it’s a beautiful instrument, almost as old as I am! I just wish I the electrics were a bit cleaner. Maybe I’ll take it into the guitar shop for a rework. +2
