All I did was stretch the drum with the flex tool --have no clue the amount or the beat--just slowed to my liking

Yes that might be best. When I slow down an existing track I always use the built in time track thing, that way you get the accurate BPM.

The problem with that the way I work I do a whole lot of "songs" in the same one logic file. So if I slow from the standard 120 4/4 to something else it messes with all those other tracks that have preceded it. So I use the FLEX tool in Logic on just an individual track.

The playing of different tunings really forces me to come up with unique "chords" that have that "tug at your heart" sound--the intro pattern is like that to me--then I have to add to it--- I used to play with guys where I'd only play 2 chords ---now I try to force a comosition that has at least 3 parts and maybe some variations of that. Thanks for the great comments!
