Just wondered if any of you guys Have! or Are! planning to build your own Custom Type Guitar (...or are already a Professional Luthier) . So I thought it would be good if we could share such skills on the Wiki Forum!
Things like setting the action/intonation and wiring mods!...ect! Only I have got a Jackson neck (24 fret) that is twisted a little and needs sorting out. I could take it to a Luthier but I'd prefer to learn myself from people that can do this kinda thing!

Please! I hope you can share your skills guys!

Pico!:)

This is a very late reply im afraid. If you want a perfect, and i mean really perfect setup on your guitar you should consider having it pleked.

Care is needed when tackling neck problems. If someone lacks the skill and experience, they are not in a position to diagnose a neck fault in the first place... It's possible to make a guitar neck worse rather than better quite easily. There needs to be an understanding of neck construction and truss rod action before progressing to measurement. The Plek process can be a useful(and expensive)method of leveling frets and cutting the nut, but if the guitar had an underlying problem this would be a waste of time.

Thanks guys!...the neck needs a truss rod specialist 2 adjust my kinda issue. But its twisted in the right direction and doesn't cause any tone/tune irregularities. I can do my own truss set ups ect....but this was outta my league. I was told if the twist falls away to the high E string on R/H guitar sometimes is a good flaw...and not a worry. :)

Lace used to make the Helix guitar with a twisted neck - it was supposed to have 'ergonomic advantages'. It was very expensive to make and didn't catch on.

Some guitars and basses have 2 truss rods and these can be set to remove a slight twist.
