RSS-feeding new tracks? iTunes? How does that sound

Hey there,
I had a little read on how to set up RSS-audio-feeds, which can be subscribed to, either via iTunes or other players.
I could basicly publish a weekly "tracks of the week" overview podcast, or do seperate feeds for different interest groups (maybe a bit similar to the "top 100" radio streams on wikiloops, just to download on your player).
I'd love to get some feedback if any of you are using such audio-feeds, I must admit I don't, so it would be nice to get some feedback if that sounds like a good idea :)
Clarification: The audio files themselfs will still be hosted on wikiloops.com, and the music use rights will not be changed by such a thing, we might just use the iTunes podcasts-list as a kind of wiki-advertising/hello-there place, no payments involved.

Just read this, I would definitely like to have some kind of top 100 podcast and would use it! It would also be cool to have a rss podcast on my recent notifications. E.g. when someone I subscribed to posts a new song, someone comments on me, etc...
Not using iTunes though, so it should be rss or some other standardized format.

That sounds cool I haven't used itunes either. But if interested I have a friend that does a radio show on Friday nights. internet radio. I had asked him if he would be interested in helping with something like this he would.

Some nine years late, but here's my +1 vote for RSS/Atom feeds. How about for the albums at least? Would make some great "Live bookmarks", if anyone remembers those...

I had a bit of a hard time figuring out if you were serious, or trying to pull my leg here :)
So, I read a bit about the 2023 state of affairs on RSS feeds - looks as they have been retired from all major browsers by now, so, how would you consume that?
I did build a little latest jams rss feed to test around a little, but gave up before adding some type of styled html content. So, yeah, I did try around a little, but tbh I still don't know if that's worth setting up. I mean, how would you get anyone to subscribe to that if it requires a "special" app to read nowadays...? I'm a bit sceptical that's worth the effort tbh.

Yeah I agree, but I was serious about that...
I found it too bad that Mozilla retired their "Live Bookmarks", it was in my opinion their greatest feature which they threw away. The advantage is clear: you only have to read headlines instead of scrolling through hundreds of articles (with pictures, summaries, sometimes ads, and so on). Saves a *ton* of time.
Nowadays I'm using https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/livemarks/ - and I think Chrome has something similar but not really as good (last time I looked), that's https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/foxish-live-rss/nbhdikhnaigcdlamenbgkmllgmfnngoi - other people are using RSS Feed readers, I've tried many but none can compete with Live Bookmarks...
So yeah, I was serious, although a feed with only the track titles as headlines wouldn't tell us much of course...

Plus, how many people would be using these obscure RSS reader plugins on their browsers?

A minority of course. But I still find them useful and scan them daily - look, without them I wouldn't have known that Ardour 8 was released for instance:
