track searching by year?

Those who have been around more than 5 years might relate to forgetting titles and track numbers of a jam session and not being able to find it or maybe it's just me. Just wondering if there is anyway to go back in time on the loops by year in search of songs.
probably not. lol Just curious. 😂

Hey Mr Major :)
For now, you can select time frames by month on the profiles tracks tab (see screenshot),
but I also have a date-range filter in the works that will eventually be added on the standard search page, most likely in the "extras" filter section, as that is indeed a somewhat nerdy feature.
I do feel it will be interesting to be able to filter by a year-range, so one can have a look at the "best of 2016" tracks once more, and in combination with the other available filters (including the recently added "search by multiple members" option which most of you probably missed so far), that will help rediscover some good stuff that otherwise got drowned in the archives.
Since I'm at it (sorry for the rambling), I wonder if anybody has realized that you can basically build a playlist of tracks with the current search engine, let me walk you thru that, too:
So, assumed you wanted to listen to Rock tracks with Ernie on Bass, PJE on Drums, a random vocalist and no slower than 90bpm, you could set
genre -> rock
Instruments (exact match disabled) -> Vocals, Drums, Bass
tempo range -> 90bpm - 320bpm
extras -> Musicians -> PJE + Ernie440
then you'd get the desired results.
Click on the first track.
Land on that tracks page.
Note: The alternative tracks panel on the right side (on desktop) displays exactly your search results from the search page
Activate "play all" switch on top of that list
Enjoy your playlist ;)
That's a pretty cool way to re-discover what some people have contributed, so I felt it might be cool to point at that once more.
Once the year-slider is in the game on the search filters, that will work just the same. As an alternative to digging around on someones profile, that may be the even better way to dig in - but you tell me :)

That's great!!! yes, I really like the current search parameters option as you mentioned. I've used it often. Looking forward to the new aspects you're working on...very cool! So true how some very good tracks by folks can get buried in the archives. It's a goldmine waiting to be harvested!
btw...The track i was searching i found...how? luckily I still had the DAW template so I opened and realized the drum track used had the track # so i went back and found it in the add contributions.
Appreciate the detailed reply .... good information. So many good musicians and music happening now and lots forgotten...I enjoy searching for gems..
With the advent of stem splitter older tracks can be revisited and remixed if the original tracks were not saved. Im probably one of the few who save individual tracks and that's why I need to clean out my desktop to make room for newer applications.
thanks again!:):W
