Just thinking. What is the best to play with as many as possible musicians or just with close group. As per me strongest point of WL is that giving us opportunity to play, learn diferent technics, styles and make musical friendship with many people All over the world.

I agree, even if the attraction towards a style or certain musicians seems obvious at first, WL offers the possibility of exploring music towards other horizons. In addition it allows friendly exchanges with everyone and its principle avoids musical hierarchy by leaving the choice to like or not like with the greatest respect. Bravo to this delicacy, because contempt is the worst thing.

Question of points of view. For me both options are valid, I prefer to play almost always with the same musicians because in this way, in my opinion, the tracks are more refined, the harmony is refined and the sound, being always the same, gives the idea of great uniformity. On the other hand, changing adventure companions allows you to experiment with new sounds, which for many musicians is what they are looking for.

Of course this is personal choise which option to choose. Both of course are ok Just my opinion is that you can play with close group in your place, your band, etc but WL giving unbelivable option to change technics, style, nature of music which in close community or band is impossible.

I think the variety of musical genres and individual playing styles is great here. Although I feel that I am slowly coming to a point where I want to spend more time working with a few others on selected tracks.

As i previously stated everyone is free to choose track, group of musicians etc. What i noticed in some occasions the music start sounding quite similar with the same people and diferent and as per me more interesting and with variation of styles, sound, approach etc once musicians are diferent.

All possibilities are possible. I have only been present in a more significant way for some time and the choice is so vast that I am certainly missing out on a lot of interesting things. In addition my practice of the English language is very limited, so it takes me a lot of time to the translations. This is why it is more natural for me to move towards styles more suited to my playing. My problem is time, much more than the desire to discover. But I agree

Maybe it will be useful if I share my experience with WL bands. This is that everyone sooner or later returned to the main room. The question is, what has happened in the meantime? For me, it was a lot. Closer contact with the WL band members, with whom you have shared interests and walked a part of the same path. I am left with good memories. Some members of the former band (waterval) are no longer active in WL. There were other projects with Josepssv, for which I learned the programming language Python. I would not want to miss the band experience in WL.

I don't feel any pull to join an overdubbing band, I've been in quite a few "real" ones and what's good about it is playing together - that's when the magic happens. Even then it's constricted by the genre of the band.

The best bands I played in were short lived and made up of personnel from 2 or 3 long term bands - we weren't aiming at anything and let our hair down before going back to the grind of our regular bands.

For me, Wikiloops is like those best bands but with a seemingly endless supply of fresh new (to me) musicians to create music with it never ends.
