Just a thought

I mean YES, sure, having fun is a thing that counts. It's not the only thing that counts, though, and not something that counts more than anything else, which is what you've indicated here.

If you're just having fun and you don't care what it sounds like, that's fine, there's room for that here; the way the recording trees work gives us room for it. . . but the recording trees ALSO give us room for doing more than just goofing. It's just as assholish and control-freaky to shut out the serious musicians trying to collaborate on great songwriting and achieve a great sound as it is to shut out the people who just want to have fun.

Yeah, I don't have fun if it doesn't sound good... unless it's a track designed to be funny and weird and all. But then it sounds good even if it sounds bad if you know what I mean :)

While reading internet discussions, I've noticed how the biggest hater of your music is always another musician. This site is different.

I wouldn't be playing and practicing here if it were otherwise. Little mistakes just make it more fun.
I think I'll appreciate every bass track that I make afterwards, when I can track my progress through them. 🙂
