Nice mixing headphones for big ears

I've decided I don't like my overly bright / harsh DT770pro headphones I have hyperacusis and these headphones are to much hyped high mids/high frequencies for me, but I do like the comfortable large ear cups.
I'd like to buy some forever headphones at this point. I've saved up and my budget could push to £500.
I use Realphones which has a wide selection of very good headphone correction curves but still - starting with something not hyped would be best.
headphone makers seem shy about advertising the ear cup size and depth but small ones are no use to me.
I had some Audio Technica ones previously but they were too small which is why I tried the 770's, famed for their comfort, I just don't like the sound and they're a bit blurry.
Open back / closed back, I don't mind but I'd probably go for open.
Any suggestions?

Did you try the DT990 Pro? For producing/mixing/mastering I would buy them again and again and again. :)

I used AKG when I was younger, but now I'm on Sennheisers since a few years. First the HD598SE, now the HD560S. They're on the bright side of neutral and like a cheaper version of the HD600 (with a cable only on one side instead of both).

Thanks! Yes they are in the running but I'm a bit "off" Beyerdynamic, they all seem hyped to some degree. I suspect something more gentle like Sennheiser 650's would suit me, but with more low end.

Indeed. What a difference to hear headphones on my audio interface compared to the onboard soundcard of my computer... ;)

I've read somewhere that the Clarett series from Focusrite is even better than the Scarlett, almost like RME and UAD. But all of them are way better than any onboard sound of course.

Just to tie up some loose ends, I pushed out the boat and bought some rather expensive Neuman NDH30 open back headphones. 120 ohms.
What's the verdict? What was a distorted mess with the DT770's is so clear I'm amazed. No high mids stabbing ears, fantastic but not exaggerated subs and bass. I'm very happy and so I should be for £500. Annoyingly bax have them on a sale at £400 right now so I could have saved £100 but what's done is done.
They are perhaps not quite as comfortable as the Beyerdynamics but certainly not uncomfortable and I have yet to take them off due to discomfort.
