Thursday they came round to take the TV,
But there ain't nuthin' on so it don't bother me,
Repo-men took my John Deere out of the shed,
And the bedroom's empty 'cause she left with the bed,
The long and the short is she ain't comin' back,
So I'm sittin' on the front porch talkin' to Jack.
[chorus]
Talkin' to Jack standin' there on the table,
Way past the neck gettin' down through the label,
He's a great listener and he never talks back,
And that's why you'll find me talkin' to Jack.
Swept up in a sh*tstorm of pure bad luck,
I can't get to town 'cause the 'ho' took the truck,
There's lawyers in Jackson after my blood,
And policemen and in-laws giving me crud,
I'm caught up in the crossfire under attack,
Seems like all I got left now is talkin' to Jack.
[chorus]
Been lookin' for work but there ain't none here,
The damn town's dry so you can't buy beer,
I got IRS vultures sequestering cash,
And a DEA snitch closin' in on my stash,
But I'm not givin' up just 'cause things look black,
Gonna look on the bright side, talkin' to Jack.
[chorus]

Thank you Ernie - very nice of you! I have been playing a lot of Lynyrdy Skynyrdy basslines and this sort of thing keeps popping in to my head. Then I was PO'd about something this week and noticed I was talking to the little portrait of Mr Daniels on side of the bottle...
