New amp!

Well, not brand new, quite old actually but new to me :)

It's a Peavey TNT 115 BW, 150w into 4Ω with a 15" speaker. Needs the smoothing caps replacing (there's a bit of buzzing) but they're not expensive and I can drive a soldering iron so it shouldn't be a problem.

Not sure my neighbours are going to be as happy as I am about it hehehe....

Smoothing caps desoldered, postman should be delivering the replacements on Tuesday...

New capacitors fitted, power amp board back in the tray. I replaced the secondary caps as well seeing as they're about the same age. Couldn't get axial ones at a decent price so I used radials instead. Time for a quick test before fitting it all back together....

Cheers man, no actual training, just an amateur hehehe. I have the internet for research and have a few friends who are electronics engineers so I can ask for advice. Also, old equipment is pretty simple and there's loads of space on the board - It would have been far more difficult with a modern amp.

It sounds *really* nice now too :)
