i was stuck in lurking mode for some days here but thought i'd drop in for a quick one.

woke up early and enjoyed a nap in the bath by the light of my lava lamp. why does that sound more dangerous than it was? must order bath pillow.

spent the rest of the morning drafting songs and then a few hours in coaching/therapy sessions. its amazed me how my equanimity has increased since i started up again about 5 months ago.

ended the day by playing soccer and american football with the kid and the guy. the weather is so beautiful i got a little sun tan and no one got injured so thats a win win :D

oh yeah, rootshell, loved your video. its nice and relaxing to hear about your day and watch you drive while there's no traffic on that stretch of highway!!

* I'm actually getting sick of hearing my own voice - the Mid England accent is not very nice really, it's flat, cold and naggy sounding, not soft and warm like French, Spanish, Italian etc and not like a US accent (can't find an adjective for that) I have found in the past that Americans quite like a female accent but not so much the British male (unless it's Scottish, Irish or Welsh). However certain styles of songs need different accents to suit them - example might be a Liverpool vocal. If I do comedy songs I usually go 'Cockney, London' or strong Yorkshire. Love songs have to be subtle and breathy... but that's hard to do with my little mic.

just an american chiming in... i'm a sucker for english accents, male or female :D
& i find it cool that you can add character by switching between the different accents like that!!

Lightning? A friend at college in the 70's had one, really lovely sound. He had a C15 until he passed his test and eventually ended up with a Triumph Trident, a ridiculously fast thing for it's time, which he drove with his brake leg fully plastered and balanced on the engine case after falling off and breaking it. He wore through the exhaust pipe cornering hard!

Since Rootshell has shown what a home street looks like on the other side of the globe, I will do the same.

I'm sorry that video shakes a lot because I'm walking 🙂 but at least the scenery should be different from what you're used to. 🙂

Thanks for that Aito

My impressions -
* The sound of your trudging feet would make a good template on wikiloops (percussion) :D
* Looked like hard work. The snow is lovely (as a novelty) but it would get boring after a while for me :(
* I was surprised to see all those blocks of apartments !
* I wanted to go under that bridge :)

Winter is boring and during it the mind becomes numb. If you've ever seen what cows look like when they come out after winter, I can tell you that the spring sun feels the same to me.😁

But this time of year the snow is beautiful, especially if the sun is shining.

Jack in the box is mainly in the western parts of the usa, but i have heard about it.

Your way of saying it, maybe a local way..maybe 🤔🙂

My response -

* I've been thinking all week What the **** is a "Pup cup" ? so I googled it, apparently it's some sort of ice cream treat for doggies :o I don't think we have those in England, so I googled it to find out. Well we have things called Puppuccinos which are are doggy treats sold or offered for free at coffee chains across the UK - a small (espresso) cup of whipped cream or frothy milk.

* I'm also confused how a 'Garden' is called a "Yard" in US - to me, a yard is a small concrete area behind cheap houses mostly or courtyards on posher houses.. When does a yard become a garden I wonder.

* Never heard of Jack in the crack, sounds a bit rude - and a "Market" would usually be a collection of tented shops selling small goods and food.

* I've been sitting down for too long today, I must go and run up and down stairs a few times now. It's cold in my house because the plumber switched the heating off to look for that leak.

* I just posted The messenger, it makes me smile but probably I'm the only one around here :) Bye for now. I might try a Street walk if I can borrow a camera tomorrow !

I've never heard of that movie. I don't often watch Swedish, Norwegian or Danish movies.

Otherwise, the movie looked like a normal weekend. 😁

Well, hardly anyone watches Finnish movies either. They look cheap and are slow compared to Hollywood movies.

Those tacos looked delightful… those blue skies and blooming trees on the other side of the tracks look so pretty.

Those tortillas look delicious Nick, I only hope your girl friend didn't send out a search party before you got back:D those back roads across the tracks kind of reminded me of the time my next door neighbor was flying out of town and forgot his luggage that he'd accidently left on his front deck and called to ask if I could run it out to him at Fresno airport being his plane was due to take off in a little over an hour. It was winter time and rush hour and got dark early and my aged eyes are not the best for night driving:o Relentless too say I somehow missed the Fresno airport off ramp and ended up on some similar back roads that seemed to go on forever. On top of that I forgot my cell phone so couldn't contact him or even get directions. He of course had to take off without his luggage and I eventually found my way back to 41 and headed home.
Your town always reminds me of my younger days across the pond in my hometown in London listening to Merle Haggard on the radio singing Tulare Dust, I didn't know what or where Tulare was back then but realized years later when I moved over here to the valley, a few miles north along 99. Your videos have added a nice touch to the wiki diary my friend. Well done :W

So now we have a wikiloops Food and Cooking channel, love it - well the idea, not the food, looks too meaty for me. I didn't know what a taco was before, it looks like a pancake or a pizza base with stuff on top.

I had a bad day today, the person I was going to borrow a phone from tells me it's drying out over night after falling into the toilet - Sod's Law!

I already posted a diary entry earlier but after reading it back I deleted it.

I was just looking at today's houses for sale (Rightmove) and I remembered what rootshell said about areas being over the tracks - we have picked up that expression as "The wrong side of the track" but I tend to use the term "Dodgy" or "Seedy" Leicester has plenty of undesirable places and that's why I'd like to move further away. It's fine for people who like eating, drinking, clubbing and buying stuff but I'm not really into that :(

I remixed a song to upload called Lord Smug today, I wrote it about someone I know (not a wikilooper) it was just a bit of fun and the person took it in good spirit :)

WoW Nick, you have really up'd your production quality with the cool intro and outro :W I gotta try a video blog showing me plowing snow for you warm weather folks :P
Today I woke up and it was 1*F (-17*C) outside and -15*F (-26*C) with the wind chill :o I guess just a normal winter for where I am so no biggie for us hardy northeastern types..LOL
I think besides your fabulously creative guitar playing you could start a cooking video blog. That meat sizzling in the pan made my mouth water :D
I like the idea of a thread with video vlogs...cool to see other parts of my own country and of other parts of the world...fun to share with everyone ;)

Canva is great for quick 'creative' ideas. I can't take much of the credit, Canva does a lot of the work :)

I do like seeing other parts of the country and world, hoping more follow suit. That's way too cold for me Ron, I wouldn't survive out there :o:o
